Today’s guest is Dr. Josh Gressel. Josh is a clinical psychologist with a private practice in the San Francisco Bay area and is a student of Jewish mysticism.
Josh believes that most people experience envy every single day, and that most of them don’t know what to do about it, except feel ashamed. But burying the feelings doesn’t help. Josh believes you can learn from your envy; and if you learn how to pay attention to it, it can even help you become happier and more fulfilled.
Josh’s new book, Embracing Envy: Finding the Spiritual Treasure in Our Most Shameful Emotion, talks about some of the deeper meanings behind what we envy, and concrete steps we can take to use our envy to become better versions of ourselves.
