Today’s guest is Erik Leslie. In 2001, Erik had a spiritual experience that would change the course of his life. Almost immediately after he started a meditative prayer practice and looked to many different religious and spiritual traditions for guidance to living a happier and more fulfilling life, he discovered that meditation helped him to be a better athlete while playing college baseball and helped his grades improve with less effort.
Throughout college he started to wonder if there was any evidence for this experience or if he was just a crazy. He found that meditation had merged into the psychology world and through research meditation was starting to reveal the benefits Erik was experiencing. He decided to get his Masters in psychology and study meditation and flow states (many athletes call it the zone). He was trained to become a mindfulness meditation teacher through UMass Medical School and using technology he measures the effects that his clients have gained through the practice of meditation.
