Season 1, Episode 59: Guided Metta Meditation #8 with Michael Neeley

For today’s guided meditation, I will introduce you to a meditation practice known as Metta. It is the Pali word most often translated as “loving kindness”. Metta is one of the ten paramis (or virtues) of the Theravadan tradition of Buddhism, and the first of the Four Sublime States (or Brahmaviharas), which also include compassion, empathetic joy and equanimity.

The practice of Metta meditation provides wonderful support to your other awareness practices.

Loving-kindness meditation comes down to your intention – which is to wish ourselves and others happiness and peace.

May we be happy. May we be well. May we be safe. May we be at peace and at ease in the world.
